Vision and Mission

Aikkaranad Grama Panchayat's primary vision and mission are centered on achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life of its people. As a local self-government institution, the Panchayat aims to ensure transparent governance with active public participation.

The key vision and missions of Aikkaranad Grama Panchayat can be explained under the following areas:

1. Vision

To transform Aikkaranad into a green, environmentally friendly, and model village that ensures social justice and economic security for all sections of society, while achieving self-sufficiency in basic infrastructure and services.

2. Major Missions

Infrastructure Development:

  • Ensure quality roads, safe drinking water supply, and adequate street lighting in all wards of the Panchayat.
  • Modernize public transportation facilities and public spaces.

Revitalization of the Agricultural Sector:

  • Promote traditional farming practices, including paddy cultivation, and provide farmers with necessary subsidies and quality seeds.
  • Strengthen the rural economy through dairy development and livestock farming.

Education and Healthcare:

  • Improve the physical infrastructure of government schools and ensure access to quality education.
  • Provide better healthcare services and preventive health initiatives to the public through Family Health Centres (FHCs).

Waste Management and Green Kerala Initiatives:

  • Strengthen source-level waste management and plastic collection through the Haritha Karma Sena as part of the "Waste-Free New Kerala" initiative.
  • Ensure the rejuvenation of water bodies and the protection of the environment.

Social Welfare and Women's Empowerment:

  • Further strengthen the Kudumbashree movement and create self-employment opportunities for women.
  • Ensure housing for the homeless through the LIFE Housing Scheme and implement special welfare programmes for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and marginalized communities.

Digitalization and Transparency:

  • Fully digitize Panchayat services through e-Governance to ensure faster, more efficient, and transparent service delivery to the public.
